Knit this cute bunny for a springtime decoration or gift! Use a favorite color of worsted weight yarn for a fanciful stuffed friend!

Approximately 11 x 6 inches (excluding tail)

Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn (286 yds/114g per skein): 1 skein cameo white
  • Size 7 (4.5mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge
  • DMC #5 pearl cotton: small amounts pink #602, beige #841
  • 3-inch wide piece of cardboard
  • Stuffing
  • 1-inch wire edged ribbon: 1 yd
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge
8 sts and 11 rows = 2 inches/5cm in St st
To save time, take time to check gauge.

Special Abbreviation
Inc 1: Inc by k in front and back of st.

Body and Head
Beg at back, CO
12 sts.

Row 1: [Inc 1] across. (24 sts)
Row 2 and rem WS rows: Purl.
Row 3: [Inc 1] across. (48 sts)
Rows 5-40: Work even in St st.
Row 41: [K2tog] across. (24 sts)
Row 43: *K1, inc 1, rep from * across. (36 sts)
Rows 45-60: Work even in St st.
Row 61: *K4, k2tog, rep from * across. (30 sts)
Row 63: *K3, k2tog, rep from * across. (24 sts)
Row 65: [K2tog] across. (12 sts)
Row 67: [K2tog] across. (6 sts)
Cut yarn, leaving an 18-inch end. Thread yarn in tapestry ndl, run through rem sts and pull tight. Sew seam, stuffing before completing seam.

Pompom
Wrap yarn 60 times around 3-inch piece of cardboard. Tie securely at one end with separate strand of yarn, cut strands at other end and trim even. Sew in place over CO sts.

Foot
Make 4
CO 8 sts.

Row 1: Knit.
Row 2 and rem WS rows: Purl.
Row 3: [Inc 1] across. (16 sts)
Rows 5-14: Work even in St st.
Row 15: [K2tog] across.

Cut yarn, leaving a 12-inch end. Thread yarn in tapestry ndl, run through rem sts and pull tight. Sew seam, stuffing before completing seam. Sew feet to underside of body.

Ear
Make 2
CO 12 sts.

Row 1: Knit.
Row 2 and rem WS rows: Purl.
Row 3: *K1, inc 1, rep from * across. (18 sts)
Rows 5-18: Work even in St st.
Row 19: [K2tog] across. (9 sts)
Row 20: Purl.

Cut yarn, leaving a 12-inch end. Thread yarn in tapestry ndl, run through rem sts and pull tight. Sew seam. Fold piece so seam is in center back of ear, then sew CO end closed. Referring to photo, sew ear in place on head.

Finishing
Referring to photo, embroider eyes in satin st with pink cotton, going back and forth through head to indent eyes slightly. With beige, work nose in satin st and mouth with straight sts.

Tie bow around neck.
