Boot Bracelets

Add a sensational new look to your fashion boots when you accent them with these glamorous, eye-catching bracelets that go from casual chic to sparkling elegance.

Finished Size
To fit 12-inch-circumference boots

Shimmering Jewels

Materials

  • Berroco Metallic FX 85 percent rayon/15 percent metallic light (DK) weight yarn (7/8 oz/85 yds/25g per hank):
    1 hank #1002 silver
  • Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry needle
  • Rosspack Inc. 3mm Austrian crystals (18 pieces per package):
    2 packages color siam
  • Create A Craft small barrel clasp:
    1 set
  • Craft glue

Gauge
11 puff sts = 5 inches

Special Stitch
Puff stitch (puff st): Draw up lp on hook to 1/3 inch, [yo, insert hook in last ch st made, yo, draw up lp to 1/3 inch] 3 times, yo, draw through all 7 lps on hook, ch 1 to close.

Center
Leaving 6-inch length for finishing, ch 1, work 23 puff sts (see Special Stitch), do not turn. Do not fasten off.

Edging
Working across long edge, *ch 2, sl st in ch-1 between first and second puff sts, [ch 2, sl st in ch-1 between next 2 puff sts] across to last puff st, ch 2, sl st at base of last puff st; working across opposite long edge, rep from * across. Fasten off, leaving 6-inch length for finishing.

Finishing
With tapestry needle and lengths left for finishing, attach one piece of barrel clasp to each end of bracelet.

With craft glue, glue one crystal to center of each puff st.

Dream Catcher

Materials

  • Berroco Suede 100 percent nylon ribbon (1.75 oz/120 yds/50g per ball):
    1 ball #3730 Lone Ranger (A)
    1 ball #3717 Wild Bill Hickock (B)
  • Coats glacé finish cotton
    hand quilting thread (250 yds per spool):
    1 spool white (C)
  • Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Size 16/0.60mm steel crochet hook
  • Crafts Etc. Steel Ring:
    1 (1-inch) ring
  • The Beadery 9 x 6mm 077 neon multi-Barrel Pony Beads:
    2 blue
    2 pink
  • Crafts Etc. The Jewelry Shoppe Small Feather Silver (14 pieces per package):
    2 feathers
  • Crafts Etc. Fancy Feathers turkey plumage, 14g, 3 1/2 - 4 inches:
    4 dusty rose
  • Create A Craft medium barrel clasp:
    1 set silver
  • Craft glue

Gauge
With G hook and A or B:
17 chs = 3 inches

Center
With size 16 hook, join C with a sl st to steel ring, [ch 7, sl st in ring] 9 times, ch 5, sl st in first ch-7 sp, [ch 5, sl st in next sp] 8 times, [ch 3, sl st in next sp] 9 times, join with sl st in next sp. Fasten off.

Edging
Leaving 6-inch length at beg for finishing and taking care not to twist ribbon, wrap A tightly around edge of steel ring, working 3 wraps through each ch-7 sp and first ch-5 sp for a total of 30 wraps. Fasten off, leaving 6-inch length for finishing. Place two silver feathers on one length left for finishing. Tie tog with overhand knot with rem length left for finishing. Trim ends and glue to ring. Glue silver feathers, one above the other, pointing to the left.

Turkey Feathers
Cut two 8-inch lengths of A. Fold each in half and attach to opposite side of steel ring with lark's head knot approximately 3/4 inch apart. Slip one blue bead and one pink bead on either end of A. Tie end in overhand knot 1 inch from ring. Cut off ribbon below knot. Cut two turkey feathers, each 1 1/2 inches long. Holding both feathers tog, dip ends in craft glue, then push ends up inside beads. Rep on rem end of A.

Bracelet

First Side
Row 1: With G hook, join A with sl st to side of steel ring between silver feathers and turkey feathers, ch 31, changing to B in last ch. Fasten off A, leaving short length for finishing.
Row 2: Working in single horizontal strand in center of each st on back of ch, sl st in each ch across, join with sl st in st at base of ch on steel ring. Fasten off.

Second Side
Row 1: With B, rep row 1 of First Side, changing to A in last ch.
Row 2:With A, rep row 2 of First Side.

Finishing
With lengths left for finishing, attach one piece of barrel clasp to each end of bracelet.

Antique Hearts

Materials

  • Lion Brand Fun Fur Prints bulky (chunky) weight eyelash yarn (1.75 oz/60 yds/40g per skein):
    1 skein #170 peacock (A)
    1 skein #153 black (B)
  • Coats Dual Duty Plus all-purpose cotton/polyester thread (300 yds per spool):
    1 spool #123 dark turquoise
  • Size K/101/2/6.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Sewing needle
  • Crafts Etc Bead Treasures antique turquoise filigree heart (3 pieces per package):
    2 packages
  • Crafts Etc. Delica Beads (4g per container):
    1 container aqua rainbow
  • Crafts Etc ivory pearls:
    4 (4mm)
    10 (3mm)
  • Create A Craft medium
    barrel clasp:
    1 set silver
  • Craft glue

Gauge
With 1 strand each A and B held tog: 14 sc = 5 inches

Bracelet
With 1 strand each A and B held tog, leaving 6-inch length at beg for finishing, ch 31, sc in second ch from hook, sc in each of next 28 chs, 3 sc in last ch; working in rem lps across opposite side of foundation ch, sc in each of next 28 chs, 2 sc in same ch as first sc (place safety pin or other small marker in first of last 2 sc), join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off, leaving 6-inch length for finishing.

Finishing
With lengths left for finishing, attach one piece of barrel clasp to each end of Bracelet.

Beaded Fringe
Note: When counting sts for Beaded Fringes, begin with marked st as number 1.

Long Beaded Fringe (make 4)
With sewing needle and thread, leaving 6-inch length at beg for finishing, string 20 aqua beads and one 4mm pearl bead. Using pearl bead for end bead, run needle back up through 20 aqua beads. Fasten off, leaving 6-inch length for finishing. Tie one Long Beaded Fringe each to sts 6, 12, 18 and 24.

Short Beaded Fringe (make 10)
Work same as Long Beaded Fringe, using 10 aqua beads and one 3mm pearl bead for each Fringe. Tie one Short Beaded Fringe each to sts 1, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 25 and 29.

Heart Fringe (make 5)
Cut five 10-inch lengths each of A and B. Holding one length A and one length B tog, fold lengths in half and attach with lark's head knot to st 3. Rep with rem lengths on sts 9, 15, 21 and 27.

For each heart, thread ends of lengths into needle and pull through heart bead until heart bead is 1/4 inch from top of Fringe. Cut Fringe to 1 1/2 inches. Apply glue to end of Fringe to prevent fraying. Apply glue to heart bead to hold in place.
