Pink Stripes Splendor Baby Afghan

Cuddly soft baby yarn in girlish pink and white makes for a snuggly baby afghan.

Materials
- 3-ply baby yarn (1 3/4 oz per skein): 5 skeins white, 4 skeins pink
- Size G/6 crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- Yarn needle
Gauge
2 cross st rows and 1 sc row = 1 inch; 10 cross sts = 4 inches
Check gauge to save time.
Pattern Note
Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Afghan
Row 1: With white, ch 153, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in 3rd ch from hook, [sk next ch, dc in next ch, dc in sk ch] rep across, ending with dc in last ch, turn. (1 dc; 75 cross sts; 1 dc)
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (152 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc, ch 1 in first st (counts as first dc throughout), [sk next st, dc in next st, dc in sk st] rep across, ending with dc in last st, turn.
Rows 4-11: Rep Rows 2 and 3.
Row 12: Rep Row 2, fasten off.
Row 13: Attach pink, rep Row 3.
Rows 14-23: Rep Rows 2 and 3.
Row 24: Rep Row 2, fasten off.
Row 25: With white, rep Row 3.
Rows 26-35: Rep Rows 2 and 3.
Row 36: Rep Row 2, fasten off.
Rep Rows 13-36 until 8 stripes are completed. At the end of last rep, do not fasten off, turn, sl st loosely in each st across, fasten off.
Fringe
Cut yarn lengths each 12 inches long and use 5 strands of yarn for each fringe. Work a fringe in side edge of each cross st row, matching fringe color to cross st row. Fold 5 strands of yarn in half, insert hook in side edge of cross st row, place fold over hook and draw through to form a lp on hook, draw cut ends through lp on hook, pull gently to secure. Trim fringe to measure 4 inches.
