Materials
- Medium (worsted) weight yarn: Small amounts of various colors as desired
- Crochet hook size G/6/4mm or size needed to obtain gauge
- Yarn needle
Gauge
Rnd 1 of motif = 1 1/2inches in diameter.
Rnd 1: With first color, ch 5, join in beg ch to form ring, ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 1, [3 dc in ring, ch 1] 3 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, fasten off. (4 3-dc groups and 4 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 2: Attach next color in any ch-1 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in same sp, ch 1, [(3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 3 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, fasten off. (4 corner groups made)
Rnd 3: Attach next color in any corner ch-1 sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same sp, ch 1, [(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 7 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, fasten off. (8 corners)
Rnd 4: Attach next color in ch-1 sp bet any 2 corner groups, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same sp, *ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1**, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 sp, rep from * 7 times, ending last rep at **, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, fasten off.
Rnd 5: Attach next color in any corner ch-1 sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same sp, *ch 1, [2 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] across to next corner group**, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next corner ch-1 sp, rep from * 7 times, ending last rep at **, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, fasten off.
Rep rnd 5 for desired size.
